NBGS LIBRARY PROGRAM

The NBGS library provides an inviting, exciting place in which students and teachers can access both electronic and print information.  The collection of books, magazines, and reference materials on many different reading levels meets the needs of all students and faculty.  In addition, online resources such as Enchanted Learning, World Book Encyclopedia, and the Vermont Online Library are available for research purposes.  The library is staffed with an experienced, licensed librarian, who teaches weekly library classes in all the grades, including lessons in library skills, author and illustrator studies,  and collaborative units with classroom teachers.

Technology integration is implemented in all lessons. Literacy is an important part of the NBGS academic curriculum, and Vermont Standards and Grade Level Expectations are covered in library class lessons, as well as many of the technology standards and GEs.
